SOUTH PEKIN ~ Larisa Nicole Wilder, 11, of 210 Belsley Street, passed away at 5:02 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2008 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria from injuries sustained in an accident that occurred while riding in a Kabota utility vehicle.

She was born August 21, 1996 in Pekin to Cory and Nicole (Grogan) Wilder. 

She is survived by her parents of South Pekin; one sister, Breana Wilder of South Pekin; maternal grandparents, Mike (Linda) Grogan and Sandra May, all of Pekin; maternal great-grandparents, Eli (Georgia) Abney of West Plains, Missouri; and paternal grandparents, Montey (Donna) Wilder of Pekin.

She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Denzel  and Mary Lou Williamson, and Harvey and Verneal Wilder; maternal great-grandparents, Dorothy and Clifford Grogan; and one uncle, Robert Grogan.

Larisa was a 6th grade student at South Pekin Grade School last year, where she was a member of the volleyball team.  She enjoyed playing the piano, reading and writing.  She dreamed of being a librarian one day.  She also loved to watch football and baseball games with her dad.

She was a member of the Lighthouse Church of God in Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.  The Rev. Sammy Barger will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Larisa Wilder Memorial Fund in care of Herget Bank's Sunset Office (attn: Chris Cummings).
