PEKIN ~ Frances Louise Sohosky, 88, of 1520 El Camino Drive, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Pekin Manor. She was formerly of Rosiclare, IL and Pharr, Texas.
Born June 14, 1921 in Lebo, Missouri to William and Mary F. (Renner) King, she married Carroll Warren Sohosky on September 5, 1942 in Baxter Springs, Kansas. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Judith Oltman of Pekin; two grandchildren, Gregory (Anna) Oltman of Spring Bay and Cristy (Kevin) Edmiston of Pekin; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Oltman, Ashlei Oltman, and Cade Edmiston; and two brothers, John (Gerry) King of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jacob (Carol) King of Carbondale.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother (Melvin King).
Frances worked as a bookkeeper at Ozark-Mahoning Company in Rosiclare for 40 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin.
Frances enjoyed square dancing and camping.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Normandale Reformed Church in Pekin. Pastor Tom Thomas will officiate.
