GREEN VALLEY ~ Carol Jean Simpson, 67, of 11041 Prairie Boulevard, passed away at 11:36 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 at her home.

Born November 25, 1942 in Pekin to John William and Margaret M. (Hoerr) Parker, she married Marvin Dale Simpson on November 22, 1967 in Pekin.  He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Kelly (Nancy) Simpson of Green Valley; two grandsons, Nicholas Simpson and Zachary Simpson, both of Green Valley; one sister, Glenna Carrick of Pekin; and two brothers, A. Clayton (Linda) Parker of Eagle Rock, Missouri and William (Linda) Parker of North Pekin.

Her parents preceded her in death.

A homemaker, Carol had worked as a computer operator at both Pekin Hospital and later at Corn Products Company.

Carol enjoyed country western dancing, shopping, going to auctions, and was an avid bowler.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. Thomas Wenndt will officiate.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, both at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
