PEORIA ~ Vivian Mae Ganion, 93, of 215 Sam J. Stone Avenue, #1112, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. She was formerly of Creve Coeur.
Born March 27, 1917 in Peoria to Thomas and Alta Mae (Holland) Downing, she married Edwin Adolph Ganion on October 24, 1936 in Peoria. He died March 16, 1995 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Vivian had worked at Hiram Walker and Sons in Peoria.
She was a member of the Martin-Courtney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4835 Ladies Auxiliary in Creve Coeur.
Vivian loved playing bingo and cards, especially Kings. She also enjoyed camping, boating, and going to the Par-a-dice Casino.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
