PEKIN ~ Jeffrey Scott Secrest, 42, of 1317 Jansen Street, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at his residence.
He was born January 1, 1965 in Peoria to Lyle L. and Judy A. (Shoultz) Secrest.
Surviving are his mother, Judy A. Secrest of Pekin; his father and step-mother, Lyle L. and Debra J. Secrest of Pekin; one brother, Gregory A. Secrest o f Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Lori A. Mammen and Lisa L. Secrest, both or Pekin; one half-sister, Rachel L. Secrest of Pekin; two step-brothers, Jared (Jen) Porter and Jason (Betty) Porter, both of Pekin and three nieces and nephews, Ashley N. Mammen, Dylan R. Mammen and Cody L. Mammen, all of Pekin. He also leaves his paternal grandmother, Elsie Williams of Pekin.
Jeff was a 1983 graduate of Delavan High School.
He worked for County Market in Pekin for 10 years, last working in the produce department on Saturday.
Jeff loved to play the guitar and listen to country music. He also had enjoyed playing the drums.
He was of the Catholic faith.
His funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father David Whiteside will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Delavan.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. led by the Rev. Jimmy Walden.
