PEKIN ~ Joyce Ann Beimfohr, 70, of 2308 Court Street, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at Pekin Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born October 13, 1940 in DeSoto to Carl A. and Daisy (Cashion) Bandy, she married Charles Beimfohr on January 16, 1990 in Las Vegas. He survives.
She was a loving mother to her three daughters, Cynthia Brandt, Pamela Pritchett and Jackie (Tim) VonBoeckman, all of Pekin; two step-daughters, Lynn Beimfohr of Pekin and Beth Ann (Greg) Snider of South Pekin; one step-son, Victor (Lori) Temple of Douglas, Wyoming; a loving grandmother to her seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; a loving sister to her two sisters, Pat (Ray) Morelli of Springfield and Erma Maquet of Pekin and her two brothers, Art Bandy of Dallas, Texas and Delbert (Dorie) Bandy of DeSoto.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Joyce worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in the Accounts Payable department for 24 years, retiring in 2000.
She loved to work in her yard and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She loved doing things for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Steven E. Hauter will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following services.
