PEKIN ~ Donald Ray Taylor, 58, of 444 South Parkway Drive, Apt. 704, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at his home.
He was born June 10, 1952 in Flat Rock to Gerald Harvey and Juanita (Heflin) Taylor. He parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are 2 sisters, Pat Taylor of Pekin and Susie (Glen) Detmers of Emden; 5 brothers, Roger (Margaret) Taylor, Rev. James (Edith) Taylor, Kenneth (Dawn) Monroe, and David Monroe, all of Pekin, and Glenn Renfrow of Horse Branch, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
Donald had worked as a railroad supervisor in South Pekin. Previously, he worked at Corn Products Company and Tazewell Machine Works, both in Pekin, and Schwan’s.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Don was a Saint Louis Cardinal’s baseball fan and enjoyed fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Community Fellowship Church, 110 East Main Street in South Pekin. Pastor Dowice Ashley will officiate
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
