PEKIN ~ Shelley Lynn (Spencer) McFarland, 47, of 1503 Henrietta Street, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 at her home.
Born September 26, 1963 in Pekin to Richard Earl and Judy Kay (Hoyle) Spencer, she married Eric Scott McFarland on May 12, 1995 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Judy Spencer of Pekin; father, Richard Spencer of Beardstown; one daughter, Natasha (Nathaneal) Melton of Freeland, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Amanda Spencer, Scott Spencer, and Leanne Melton, all of Freeland; two sisters, Rhonda Morrison of Pekin and Angela (Mike) McCubbins of Washington; and one brother, Steven (Kristine) Spencer of Morton.
Her grandparents preceded her in death.
She was a 1981 graduate of Forman High School in Manito.
Shelley worked as a CNA in the Central Illinois area for many years, last working at Morton Terrace Care Center in Morton.
She enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, crafts, and motorcycling. A quiet giver, Shelley donated many of her quilts to area nursing homes and hospitals.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Hoyle Bus Barns, 407 South 3rd Street, Pekin.
Cremation arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelley McFarland Memorial Fund in care of her family.
