PEKIN ~ Bonnie Lea Rollins Fitzwater, 78 of Pekin passed away at 5 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her home.
Born June 25, 1933 in Shirley, AR to Claude and Effie Bradford, she married Hoover Rollins in April of 1950 in Arkansas. She later married Keith Fitzwater on April 4, 1981 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jim (Jan) Rollins of Pekin; one daughter, Linda (Wendell) Blackaby of Pekin; two step-daughters, Terry (Keith) Ernest of Lawton, OK, Brenda (Floyd) Rivers of Peoria; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; several step-grandchildren and one brother, Emmett (Carol) Bradford of Shirley, AR.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and one sister.
A homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, quilting, crocheting and gardening.
Bonnie was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at Faith Baptist Church. The Rev. Timothy Collard and Mr. Kenneth Seest will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is in charge of arrangements.
