PEKIN ~ Angela Marie "Angel" Ranney, 37, of Pekin, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her home.
Born February 2, 1974 in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of Perry and Marilyn (Grace) Sears. She also leaves her birthmother, Patricia (Grace) Swope of California. Angel married Corey Gregory Ranney on December 20, 1997 in Groveland. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Josie Ranney and Alexis Ann Ranney; her siblings, Don (Michelle) Sears, Kathy (Dean) Peters, Kathy Rose (Ted) Rex, Mary (Jeff) Mosher, Cynthia Child, Jimmy (Bea) Swope and Laura Kay (Joe) Geiger; one step-sister, Wendy Swope; her in-laws, Greg and Gloria Ranney; several nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Perry; one brother, Charles Sears and an infant sister, Robin Sears.
Angel had worked in property management and had earned a two year associates degree in real estate and property management. She also worked in the family business, AAMCO Transmissions in Peoria.
She was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her extended family, friends and their children. She enjoyed gardening and swimming. Angel was also fond of animals, especially her dogs, Sissy and Taz.
She attended First Christian Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Michael K. Roberts will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a memorial fund established for her children in care of Heartland Bank and Trust, 3400 Court Street, Pekin, IL 61554.
