PEKIN ~ Eleonore "Busia" Salmon, 90, of 444 South Parkway Drive, passed away at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at her residence.
Born April 7, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA to Frank and Anna Dmochowski, she married Lewis W. Salmon on July 25, 1942 in Chicago. He died October 28, 1986 in Bolingbrook. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and seven sisters.
Surviving are one son, Craig W. Salmon of Pekin; one daughter, Janet S. (William "Buddy") Crawford of Killeen, TX; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Torres of Peoria, AZ, Amy (Mike) McSwain of Ft. Worth, TX, Daniel (Roxane) Tichenor of Del Rio, TX, Dustin (Corrie) Salmon, Camille (Shannon Williams) Salmon, both of Pekin and Ryan (Shalan) Crawford, of Gatesville, TX; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sophie Peloquin of Indianapolis, IN and Irene Kazwara of Memphis, MO and one half-brother, Frank Dmochowksi of CA.
A homemaker, Eleonore was a member of the Pekin Hospital League and a longtime volunteer at the Nearly Nu Shop. She loved crocheting, knitting and all kinds of sewing.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and its Council of Catholic Women.
A private memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Burial of her cremated remains will be beside her late husband in Oakland Memory Lanes Cemetery in Dolton, IL. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
