PEKIN ~ Robert E Lamb Sr., 58 of Pekin passed away at 9:20 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2012 at his home.
He was born June 17, 1953 in Bloomington to Emmett E. and M. Lorene (Hasler) Lamb.
Surviving are his mother Lorene of Pekin; one son, Robert Lamb Jr.; one daughter, Leslie (Brian) Gray; one step-daughter, Chanda (Josh) Parod, all of Pekin; eight grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Bonnie) Lamb of Pekin; two sisters, Ginger (Al) Mc Irvin of TN and Jo Ann Lamb of South Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Bob owned and operated Lamb Sr. Pilot Service for the last eleven years, escorting large loads on the highways nationwide. Prior to this, he was a Heavy Haul Specialist and had worked for Caterpillar, Inc.
A family oriented man and an outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed amateur photography, camping, fishing, boating and four wheeling. He was also known to tinker with and rebuild things in his garage.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Friday will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
