EAST PEORIA ~~ Bryan Scott Bowen, 41, of East Peoria, passed away at 10:40 a.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 at his home.
Born May 2, 1970 in Peoria to Willard and Sharon (Vansickle) Bowen, he married Shonya Fugate on April 17, 2000 in Peoria.
Surviving are his mother, Sharon Nelson of Bartonville; his wife; 1 son, Brandon Bowen of Pekin; 3 daughters, Sheay Bowen of Peoria, Britany Walton-Bowen of Creve Coeur, and Bryanna Bowen of East Peoria; 9 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Willard “Butch” Bowen, Ronald (Toni) Bowen, Robert Jenkins, and Raymond (Kelly) Jenkins, all of Peoria; 1 sister, Kimberly (Chuck) Myers of Peoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bryan was preceded in death by his father; step-fathers, Walter Nelson and Bob Jenkins; and his grandparents.
He last worked as a warehouseman at Carpet Weavers in Peoria and had previously worked as a truck driver at G&D Transportation in Morton.
Bryan was a Minnesota Vikings football fan. He also enjoyed his dogs, listening to his police scanner and spending time with his grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Steve Barch will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Private burial of cremated remains will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
