EDELSTEIN ~ Leonard Grant Campbell, 82, of 66 Country Road 350 North, formerly of Hanna City, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Sharon Health Care Elms in Peoria.
Born February 2, 1929 in Peoria to Leonard F. and Vernadean (Clemmons) Campbell, he married Maxine L. Middage on March 26, 1948 in Peoria.
Surviving are his son, Steve (Bonnie) Campbell of Edelstein; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sharon Sally of Peoria and Barbara Stenzel of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Vernadean Siders; one daughter, Cindy Trent; two brothers, LeRoy Siders and Richard Siders; two sisters, Shirley Campbell and Betty Browning.
Grant served in the United States Army.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He worked in maintenance for the District 150 School board for 17 years, retiring in 1991. He also had worked as a meat cutter for Armour Meat Packing Plant for 20 years.
Grant enjoyed fishing, hunting and small engine repair.
He had been a member of the Hanna City Sportsman Club. He also was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. There will be no visitation.
