PEORIA ~ Marian Koch Ashley, 87, of Peoria, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria. She was formerly of Pekin and Marco Island, FL.
Born November 24, 1924 in Tremont to Henry G. and LaReina (Simpson) Koch, she married Donald E. Ashley on March 10, 1944 in Peoria. He died December 3, 1999 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard H. Ashley; an infant daughter, Susan Ashley and her sister, Ann Jackson.
Surviving are one daughter, Andrea A. (Brian) Addy of Pekin and two granddaughters, Lindsay A. Addy of Chicago and Chelsea A. Addy of Pekin, who were her passion in life.
Marian was a graduate of Peoria High School and attended Bradley University, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting water colors. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Bulls and Cubs.
Marian was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter EF in Peoria and Chapter LM in Pekin. She also was a member of the Junior League of Peoria; the Methodist Hospital Service League and Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary, both of Peoria.
She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
Her visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Private burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
