TREMONT ~ Amy Elizabeth Ruhaak, 30, of Tremont, passed away at 11:52 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior.
She was born August 25, 1981 in Peoria to Thomas and Linda (Griffith) Ruhaak.
Surviving are her parents of Tremont; and three brothers, Chris (fiancée, Jessica) Ruhaak and Jon Ruhaak, both of Tremont, and Joe (Sara) Ruhaak of Pekin. She also leaves behind her much loved cats; Sadie Mae and Smokey Marie; her dog, Wilson; and three fish.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Amy was a 2000 graduate of Tremont High School and was a home health care worker.
Some of Amy’s favorite things were; orange flowers, her Build-a-Bears, coloring books and markers, jigsaw puzzles, and country music especially Willie Nelson, Rascal Flatts and Cookie Bannon.
She loved shopping and going out for lunch with her best friend, momma. She was a big fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals and loved the Peoria Riverman.
Amy loved life and her desire was for everyone to live in peace. Everyone who took the time to know Amy will understand the depth of her family’s sorrow and are blessed for having known her. Her desire to be an organ donor was fulfilled.
A service celebrating her life will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jon Wenger will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
