CREVE COEUR ~ Eva L. Schmidgall, 89, formerly of Creve Coeur and Pekin, passed away at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Morton Terrace Care Center, where she was a resident.

Born August 6, 1922 in Ponder, MO to William Thomas and Dosha (Stokes) Gettings, she married William Samuel Miller on September 30, 1938.  He died October 8, 1975.  She later married Christian G. Schmidgall on January 6, 1985.  He died on December 4, 2005.  She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Clarence Gettings, Matthew Gettings, Walter Gettings, Perry Gettings and Leonard Gettings and one grandson, Timothy Hasty.

Surviving are two daughters, Wilma Hasty and Sharon Gordon, both of East Peoria; one son, Carl Miller of Creve Coeur; five grandchildren, Craig Hasty, Joshua (Kristyn) Miller, Kate (Dave) Cookson, Lisa (Tom) Galletti and Julie Gordon; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Eva worked for many years as a seamstress in the Peoria area.

She was interested in genealogy and formerly enjoyed oil painting.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.  Pastor Paul B. Isom will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Fon du Lac Cemetery in East Peoria.
