CREVE COEUR ~ Bernard Peterson, 81, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 3:39 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center Emergency Room.
Born July 19, 1935 in Kewanee to Walter Peterson, he married Doris Rose Lindal on October 16, 1999 in Pekin. She passed away January 21, 2011 in Creve Coeur. He also was preceded in death his parents and two brothers.
Surviving are one daughter, Sheryl Delaney of Creve Coeur; four sons, Richard Delaney of Madison, Wisconsin, Randal Delaney and Martin Delaney, both of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Todd (Kathy) Delaney of Klamath Falls, Oregon; one step-daughter, Linda Rich of Necedah, Wisconsin; sixteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Bernard worked as a maintenance man for over twenty years for the University of Houston, retiring in 1997.
He attended Creve Coeur Christian Church.
He really enjoyed playing pool and cribbage. He cherished time with his grandchildren and enjoyed teaching them to fish.
His celebration of life gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Martin-Courtney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4835 in Creve Coeur. Private Inurnment with his wife will be held in July in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
