Patricia Krueger

MANITO  ~  Patricia Ann “Pat” McLean Krueger, 82, of Manito, passed away at 9:12 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 after a brief stay in hospice care at UnityPoint Health - Methodist in Peoria. 

Pat was born September 30, 1934 in Shelby, Montana to Robert and Madge (Malone) McLean and was raised by her grandparents, Archibald and Maude McLean.  She moved to Spokane, Washington, where she met and married Al Krueger in 1954.  She was preceded in death by her husband Al and beloved daughter, Linda Harker.

Pat is survived by her son, Steve (Nina) Krueger of Manito; her granddaughter, Kate (Tim Carson) Krueger of Washington, D.C.; two grandsons, Christopher Harker of Kansas City, Kansas and Stephen (Amanda) Harker of Tampa, Florida; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Mike (Marilyn) McLane of San Antonio, Texas; and son-in-law, Keith Harker , of Kansas City, Kansas.

She was quite the adventurer, living in Ethiopia, the Netherlands, Australia and Scotland, and traveling all over the world.  She was an avid reader and passionate Scrabble player, beating the socks off of all challengers.  Her greatest legacy was instilling fearlessness and a spirit of adventure in all three of her grandchildren.

Per Pat’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin and she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Al, in Montana.  

There will be a gathering celebrating Pat’s life from 5:30 -9 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Willett’s Winery in Manito.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forman Valley Public Library, Post Office Box 710, Manito, IL  61545.
