PEKIN ~ Bobby Gene Dale, 82, of Pekin, passed away at 8:44 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his home.
Born November 8, 1934 to Omar and Irene (Mibbs) Dale, he married Sandy Lock on September 13, 1962 in Havana. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Robin Braman; one son, Bobby J. Dale; two grandchildren, Tiffany Braman and Chris Braman; two great-grandchildren, Aubrielle and Daniel, all of Pekin and one sister, Janice Hardesty of Havana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ivan, Clyde and Elmer and one sister, Mildred.
He had worked as a truck driver for Durst Trucking in Cazenovia, retiring in 1994.
Bobby was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pekin.
He had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era.
Bobby had enjoyed bowling and been active on the C.B. radio, going by the handle “Cocklebur”. He was also known for selling produce from his front yard.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Steven M. Rowell, Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in rural Chandlerville, Illinois.
