Victor L. "Butch" Morrissey

PEKIN ~ Victor Lee "Butch" Morrissey, 73, of Pekin, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Pekin Manor.
Born August 31, 1944 in Pekin to Mahlon and Rose (Cervo) Morrissey, he married Carrie Albrecht in June 11, 1977 in Pekin.  She survives.  
Also surviving are three sons, Jon Morrissey of Springfield, IL, Jeff (Arvada) Morrissey of Springfield, Missouri and Jeremy (Rebecca) Morrissey of Joplin, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brooke, Garrett, Alyson, Connor, and Olivia Morrissey; one sister, Sharon Bonnette of Pekin; his mother and father-in-law, Mary Lou (Jack) Albrecht of Pekin; brother-in-law, Steven (Jeanette) Albrecht of Pekin; two nephews, Michael Bonnette of Chicago and Terry Bonnette of Detroit, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Justin Morrissey; two daughters-in-law, Kimberly Morrissey and Lisa Morrissey; two brothers, Mahlon Robert Morrissey, Jr. and Richard Morrissey; and his brother-in-law, Gerald Bonnette.
Butch had attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
He had worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria's SS building on the air conditioner line.  He retired in 2010 after 40 years of service.
Butch enjoyed bowling and was an avid NASCAR fan.  He adored his grandchildren and loved fishing with his kids.
His memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.  Father James Pankiewicz will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery at a later date.
