PEKIN ~ Marilyn Ruth Worlow, 82, of Pekin, passed away at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born September 13, 1935 in Licking, Missouri to William F. and Audrey M. (Kell) Worlow. Her parents; one sister, Pam Leitner; one brother, Billy Worlow; one niece, Alesa Goodbred and one great-nephew, Tanner Barbee preceded her in death.
Surviving are one sister, Janet (John) Ledbetter of East Peoria; nieces and nephews, Wesley (Kathi) Worlow, Brent Worlow, Angela (Robert) Bonjour, Jeff (Julie) Barbee and Lance (Tina) Leitner and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She had been a member of the Pekin Community High School class of 1953.
Marilyn had worked as an office manager for Midwest Oil in East Peoria for 40 years, retiring in 2001.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin where she had served as a Deaconess and had been a volunteer with the food pantry. She had also been a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association and the Oilman’s Association in which she held offices in both.
Marilyn was a very independent woman who enjoyed working and being busy. She also loved being with her family and going on bus trips with her church.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Brad Martin will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Private burial of cremated remains will be at a later date.
