Henry W. "Bill" Cvik, Jr.

PEKIN ~ Henry William “Bill” Cvik, Jr., 86, of Pekin, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Pekin Manor.

Born July 20, 1931 in Peoria to Henry and Ruby (Fletcher) Cvik, Sr., he married Helen Fernandez on February 10, 1955 in New York City.  She survives. 

Also surviving are one son, Steven (Marty) Cvik of Troy; three daughters, Theresa (Rick) Vogel of Pekin, Cheryl Cvik and Cynthia Cvik, both of North Richland Hills, Texas; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one sister, Catherine (jerry) Pemberton of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill had served with the United States Air Force in the Military Police during the Korean War.

He had worked in production at Caterpillar, Inc. at the East Peoria facility, retiring after 41 years of service.

Bill’s passion was going to Wyoming to hunt deer and antelope.  He had also enjoyed fishing and travel.  He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Pastor Joe Briseno will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.  Military rites will be provided by the United State Air Force and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
