Bobby W. Gore

GLASFORD ~ Bobby Wayne Gore, 85, of Morton, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 at Apostolic Christian Restmor, Inc. in Morton.  He was formerly of Glasford.

Born May 19, 1932 in Cypress to John Wayne and Mary Agnes (Henard) Gore, he married Lorene Mae Tomevi on May 20, 1951 in Glasford.  She died August 6, 1980.  He later married Elizabeth Barker on October 23, 1982.  She died April 21, 2010.  He also was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Rebecca Gore.

Surviving are seven children, Cheri (Charlie) Dean of Morton, Karen Gore and Tina Hammerich, both of Glasford, Diana (Kevin) Shroer of Peoria, Ella May Barker of California, Kerry (Art) Czarobski of Lansing and Chester (Emily) Barker of Bartonville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Juanita Nolan and Audrey Baughman, both of Pekin.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.

Bobby worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville as a millwright for many years, retiring in 1990.  He previously had worked for Corn Products Company in Pekin.

He was a member of Lancaster Lodge 106, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in Glasford.  He also was a member of the Mohammed Temple, Shrine in Bartonville and was also a member of the Farmington Moose Lodge and the Peoria Motorcycle Club.

Bobby was devoted to his family and enjoyed fishing, camping and farming.

He was a member of Glasford Baptist Church.

His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Pastor Paul D. Cook will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glasford Baptist Church, 209 East 5th Street, Glasford, IL 61533 or to Imago Dei Church, 2221 North Gale Avenue, Peoria, IL 61604.
