Donna J. Quinley

PEKIN ~ Donna Jean Quinley, 86, of Pekin, passed away at 2:51 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Pekin Manor.
Born January 11, 1931 in Jacksonville, she was the daughter of Clearice and Clevia Anderson. Her father was killed when she was four months old. Her mother married E. Walt Segler, who adopted her at that time and Donna took the Segler name. She married Richard W. Quinley on September 17, 1950 in Peoria. He survives.
Surviving are two children, Gary (Christine) Quinley of O’Fallon, Mo. And Pamela J. (Sandy) Meserole of Pekin; four grandchildren, Amanda (Sheldon) Bray, Cory (Brigette) Meserole, Tammie (Mike) Kim and Mathew (Erin) Quinley; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Manual High School in Peoria.
She and her husband were longtime residents of Atlanta, where her husband owned and operated the Atlanta Cleaning Plant for many years and she worked for Olympia High School in the cafeteria for 10 years. They moved to Springfield in 1994 and later to Pekin in 2013 to be closer to their daughter.
She was a member of Westside Christian Church in Springfield.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Westside Christian Church in Springfield. Pastor Cindy Lash will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service at the church. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
