Marian Bell Stanford

FARMINGTON ~ Marian Mae Bell Stanford, 93 of Farmington, formerly of Peoria and Pekin, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Courtyard Estates in Farmington.

Born September 15, 1924 in Mason City to Wilbur Benton and Charlotte Augusta (Peplow) Earhart, she married Arthur W. Bell, Sr. on March 7, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri.  He died May 5, 1973 in Peoria.  She later married W.R. “Bill” Stanford on December 28, 1984 in Peoria.  He died March 18, 2017 in Farmington.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; two brothers, Leland Earhart and Lloyd Earhart; and one sister, Lucille Davis.

Surviving are three daughters, Artha (Chuck) Bell Siebel of The Villages, Florida, Paula (Doug) Bell Ternet of McKinney, Texas and Patricia Bell of Elgin; two sons, Thomas (Chris) Bell of Mapleton and Arthur (Jane) Bell, Jr. of Peoria; two step-daughters, Linda (Allen) Bailey and Pamela (Denny) Greiner, both of Creve Coeur; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Bob) VanNattan of Pekin; and many nieces and nephews.

Marian had worked for Caterpillar, Inc., retiring after 17 years of service.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria and the Caterpillar Retirees Club.

Marian enjoyed visiting with her family, traveling, square dancing and having garage sales.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Pastor Richard Wehrs of Salem Lutheran Church will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Mason City Cemetery in Mason City.
