Steven E. Rynearson

MACKINAW ~ Steven Eugene “Steve” Rynearson, 68, of Mackinaw, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his home.

Born September 25, 1949 in Pekin to Harley and Eva Belle Rynearson, he married Carole Lynn Wagner on June 14, 1969 in East Peoria.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steven (Angelia) Rynearson, Jr. of Tremont and James (Nikki) Rynearson of East Peoria; and five grandchildren, Anna Rutledge, Carter Rynearson, Maddi Rynearson, Eva Rynearson, and Amelia Rynearson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Harold Mariner; and three brothers, James Rynearson, Jerry Rynearson, and Timothy Rynearson.

He was a 1968 graduate of East Peoria Community High School.

Steve owned and operated Ryno Aggregate Supplies in Mackinaw for the past 10 years.  Previously, he worked for McAllister Equipment Company and Altorfer, Inc., both in East Peoria.

He was a member of the Deer Creek American Legion Post #1276.  Steve had served in the Illinois Air National Guard for 9 years.

Steve enjoyed fishing, watching powerboat racing, and visiting Lake of the Ozarks.  He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinal’s and the Kewanee A’s.  Steve loved life and enjoyed being with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory, 405 Rusche Avenue in Creve Coeur.  The Rev. Dan Perry will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
