PEKIN ~ Peggy Lee Capps, 66, of Pekin, left us at 8:54 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria.
Peggy was born June 13, 1951 in Pekin to William and Marilyn (Helmig) Campbell.
Those left to honor her memory include two daughters, Jen Powell-Hager of Clarksville, Tennessee and Mindy (Greg) Powell-Hardy of Franklin, Tennessee; two sons, Lou (Sonia) Powell of Memphis, Tennessee and Jeremy (Shawn) Capps of Pekin; sixteen grandchildren, Joel Melton, Josh Melton, Jordan Hager, Alexandra Hager, Bryce Dunn, Alisha Capps, Taylor Powell, Jacob Hager, Ethan Powell, Jonathan Hager, Brady Hardy, Olivia Hager, Gracie Hardy, Isabelle Powell, Maya Capps and Brennan Hardy; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patty (Robert) Winegard of Illinois City, Illinois, Sue (Jim) Charles of Andalusia, Sarah (Brad) Nyenhuis of Davenport, Iowa and two brothers, Bill Campbell of Andalusia and David (Cheryl) Campbell of Moline; nine nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and great-nephews and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Michael and one nephew, Andrew Doyle.
Peggy attended Rockridge High School in Taylor Ridge, Illinois.
She worked as a bartender for many years prior to retiring from the Pekin Country Club, where she made many friends.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, time with family and friends and trips to the beach. Peggy was a loving and loyal mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
There will be a time for sharing memories at the Pekin Eagles Aerie 1869, Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 1 until 2 p.m., then everyone is encouraged to stay for fellowship and celebration of Peggy’s life from 2 until 4 p.m.
