PEKIN ~ Leslie James “Jim” Lamb, 70, of Pekin, passed away at 5:43 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at UnityPoint Health – Pekin.
Born March 3, 1947 in Bloomington to Emmett Edward and Melva Lorene (Hasler) Lamb, he married Bonnie Lee Acton on August 12, 1972 in Creve Coeur. She survives.
Also surviving are his three children, Scott (Angel) Lamb of Marquette Heights, Kellie (Todd) Short of North Pekin, and Linda (Joe Estes) Folsom of Pekin; ten grandchildren, Noah Lamb, Karson Lamb, Morgan Baker, Ethan Baker, Erinn Short, Matthew Short, Tristin Short, Jordan Folsom, Hayley Folsom and Kody Baker; two sisters, Virginia (Al) Mc Irvin of Hollow Rock, Tennessee and Jo Ann Lamb of South Pekin; and his two pug dogs, Katie and Suzy May.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert “Bob” Lamb.
Jim was worked in maintenance at Evonik Corporation in Mapleton for 43 years, retiring in 2010.
Jim enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing Motorcycle and trail riding. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and brother.
His funeral will be at 6 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Michael McLeod will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 5:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
