William J. Schriever

MARQUETTE HEIGHTS ~ William Jacob “Bill” Schriever, 86, of Marquette Heights, passed away at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home.

Born March 26, 1931 in Dumont, Iowa to Frederick and Dora (Yost) Schriever, he married Shirley Ann Parks on December 17, 1952 in Pekin.

Surviving are his wife; one son; one daughter; several grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Schriever of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Reka; and five brothers, Fred, Dave, Elmer, Carl, and Howard.

A United States Navy veteran of the Korean War, he served from July 21, 1948 to July 11, 1952.  He had served aboard the USS Hanson (DDR 832).   All of Bill’s brothers had also served in the military.

Bill worked for Komatsu in Peoria for 32 years, retiring in 1996 as a specialized welder.  At work, he was known as “Whitie”.

There will be no services and cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
