PEORIA ~ Florence McNeeley, 91, of Peoria, passed away at 1:34 a.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Timbercreek Rehab & Health Care in Pekin.
Florence was born on September 27, 1926 in Alta to Andrew and Veronica Hancher. She attended Sparland High School and St. Francis School of Nursing.
Surviving are one daughter, Tena M. Tucker of Peoria; two grandchildren, Mark A. Deatherage and Tonya L. (Sriram) Narayan; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Stephanie, Ethan, Mason, Emily, Steven and Ashley; three sisters, Regena Meeker of Wyoming, Josephine Hancher of East Peoria and Marcella Rowland of Morton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Stephen M. Deatherage and Robert L. Deatherage, Jr.; two brothers, Richard Hancher and Bernard Hancher and two sisters, Ellen Hancher and Valeria Reed.
Florence was a member of Holy Family Parish for many years. She was an avid golfer and loved to play the piano and sing. She also loved to dance and host theme parties for all her friends and family. Florence was also a true animal lover, she had many dogs over her lifetime, and she enjoyed taking long walks with them each day.
There will be a Celebration of Life starting a 5 p.m. on Friday, March 2nd at Bernardi’s Restaurant, 12200 Brentfield Drive in Dunlap. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
