Harry J. Wockley

PEKIN ~ Harry Joseph Wockley, 84, of Pekin, passed away at 2:57 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born September 9, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA to William H. and Grace Anna (Sye) Wockley, he married Margaret Mae Baehr on September 17, 1955 in Pittsburgh, PA. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, David M. (Cheri) Wockley of Pekin; one grandson, Joel M.L. Wockley of Pekin; one brother, Thomas J. (Carol) Wockley of Pittsburgh, PA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William S. and Robert C. Wockley.

Harry served in the United States Army in Korea.

He had worked in sales for a total of 34 years in industrial tooling in the Midwest. He retired from Verizon in 1997 with 25 years of service and nine years with Greenleaf Corp.

Harry was a former member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He enjoyed woodworking, RVing and helping his grandson follow his dreams.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pekin.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Additional services will be at noon, Friday, April 6, 2018 at Scheppner-McDermott Funeral Home in Pittsburgh, PA. Visitation will one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Pittsburgh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 TAPS Ln., Pekin, IL 61554.
