FARMINGTON ~ Darla Jean Camp, 75, of Farmington, passed away at 9:16 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2018 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
Born June 21, 1942 to William H. and Pauline (Rogers) Dozard, she married Charles Earl Camp, Sr. on April 12, 1958 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2011 in Canton. She also was preceded in death by one son, Charles Camp, Jr.; one daughter, Mary Williamson; and two brothers, Thomas Dozard and William Dozard, II.
Surviving are one daughter, Lynn Grant of Farmington; one son-in-law, Doug Williamson of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Sarah Fackler of Washington, Amanda (Kris) Sheridan of Bloomington, Julie Williamson of Heyworth, Ryan Camp of Creve Coeur, Toni Williamson of Normal, Robert (Ashley) Grant of Champaign, and Curtis Grant of Farmington; thirteen great-grandchildren, Sandy, Chase, Alexandra, Riley, Breslin, Christopher, Layne, Oryn, Libby, Haylee, Lucas, Akil and Charlie; one sister, Doris Hinton of Creve Coeur; and one brother, Eugene (Betty) Dozard of Washington. Also surviving are one uncle, Sam Rogers of Canton; one aunt, Dorothy Reay of Creve Coeur.
Darla was a member of the Creve Coeur Christian Church.
She had worked in housekeeping for the White House Motel in Farmington for thirteen years. She also worked in housekeeping for Farmington Country Manor and did private housekeeping as well.
Darla was a former member of the Women of the Moose in Farmington and a former member of the Maid's Day Off Bowling League in Farmington.
She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed pet birds and camping. She loved garage sales. More than anything, she enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
The family will host a celebration of life from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the 5th Quarter in East Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur is in charge of arrangements.
