WASHINGTON ~ Charlene Joyce Hardy, 80, of Washington, passed away at 8:57 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at UnityPoint Health – Proctor in Peoria.
Born April 24, 1937 in Princeton to Charles and Charlotte (Petty) Lee, she married David Hardy, Sr. on November 11, 1961 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Hardy and Michelle (Lee) Tate, both of Washington; one son, David (Tara Jans) Hardy, Jr. of Washington; eight grandchildren, Sue, Curtis Dylan, Dustin, Jason, Zachary, Logan and Camden; three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Christopher and Cameron; one sister, Barb (Harry) Sherlock of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson, David John Hardy and two brothers, Robert E. Lee and Earl Lee.
A homemaker, Charlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed going to the Par-A-Dice Riverboat Casino, where she was an Emerald Club member.
Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. A gathering celebrating Charlene’s life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the American Legion Post #100, 211 Legion Road in Washington.
