Addie Ruth Butler

PEKIN ~ Addie "Ruth" Butler, 85, of Pekin, passed away at 1:03 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born October 25, 1932 in Rushville to Grover Cleveland and Mary Frances (Irwin) Morrell, she married Oscar Owen Butler on February 14, 1951 in Rushville. He died in 1982. She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Stauthammer and two sisters, Illene and Pauline.
Surviving are three daughters, Anne (Gary) Rose and Nancy (William) Lee, both of Pekin and Carole (Paul) Miller of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Korey, Matt, Chris, Jessica, Joe, Angie and Rachael; fourteen great-grandchildren, Trinity, Taylor, Jordyn, Peyton, Reese, Jordy, Emily, Abigail, Michael, Silas, Henry, Edison, Avery and Georgia; and one brother, Robert (Trudy) Morrell of California.
Ruth had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Pekin Hospital for 32 years, retiring in 1997. After retirement, she continued to work as a nurse at area nursing homes. She later worked as a caregiver at Marigold in Pekin.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and walking dogs.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Her son-in-law, Pastor William Lee will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
