PEKIN ~ Emilie Ann Loeffelmann, 78, of Pekin, passed away at 5:25 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria,

Born October 10, 1939 in Peoria to Theodore Roosevelt and Elizabeth Louise (Ricketts) Plattner, she married Larry Eugene Loeffelmann on April 19, 1975 in Pekin.  He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Robert (Donna) Hurst of Pekin; two daughters, Judy (Tim Heinrich) Hurst and Sue (Richard) McKinley, both of Pekin; three grandchildren, Nicole Hurst, Jennifer McKinley, and Shelby McKinley; two step-sons, John (Betty) Loeffelmann and Joey (Annie) Loeffelmann, both of Pekin; one step-daughter, Juanita Lumpkin of Topeka; and many step-grandchildren.

Her parents preceded her in death.

A homemaker, Emilie worked at the American Distilling Company in Pekin and Hiram Walker and Sons in Peoria in earlier years.

She was a member of Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin and was a life and 50- year member of the Celestial City Chapter #333 of the Order of Eastern Star in Pekin.

Emilie was an animal lover and enjoyed shopping, golf ball hunting, and her indoors plants.  She served as the PCHS Class of 1957 reunion secretary and always looked forward to seeing her classmates.  Emilie was a dedicated caregiver to her parents and her uncles.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. Dr. Brian Byrne will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  An Order of Eastern Star service will follow at 6:30 p.m.  Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

Like Emilie always said at the end of a telephone call, “Bye Bye”.
