Marietta Weidner

PEKIN ~ Marietta "Mickey" Weidner, 88, of Pekin, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Timbercreek Rehab & Health Care in Pekin.
 
Born June 19, 1930 in Nashville, Illinois to Roscoe R. and Caroline M. (Meyers) McMillian, she married George E. Weidner on November 4, 1950 in Galesburg.  He died January 19, 2009 in Pekin.  She also was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, George McMillian, James "Ab" McMillian, Everett McMillian, Norman McMillian and Richard McMillian; and two sisters, Dorothy Toussaint and Jessie Dennison.
 
Surviving are two sons, Gary R. Weidner and Tim E. (Lora) Weidner, both of Pekin; five grandchildren, Brennan R. Weidner, Douglas E. (Stephanie) Weidner, and Nathan H. (Meghan)Weidner, all of Pekin, Brooke R. (Joshua) Rhoades of Elkhart, Devon L. (Luke) Wentz of California; and twelve great-grandchildren.
 
Mickey had worked for Hines & Logan Printing Companies in Peoria for several years as a binder girl.  She also had worked as a housekeeper for many years.
 
She had been a member of the Parkway Christian Church in Pekin, where she served as a Sunshine person and was a member of the Heart Tenders group.
 
Mickey was an avid reader.
 
Her funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Pastor Dowice Ashley will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
