Steven E. Kemple

EAST PEORIA ~ Steven Eugene Kemple, 72, of East Peoria, passed away at 5:27 p.m. Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center Emergency Department in Peoria.

Born December 7, 1946 in Wilmington, Ohio to Billy Eugene and Betty Jane (Starr) Kemple.  His wife is Kim Hue Lam.  She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Loi Kemple, Long (Alicia) Kemple, both of California, Lan Kemple of East Peoria; one daughter, Anna (Lloyd) Alvarez of Morton; five grandchildren, Erica, Christopher, Brandon, Mia and Sienna; two great-grandchildren, Maili and Ivan and one brother, Mike (Barb) Kemple of Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard.

Steven had served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He worked for Caterpillar, Inc., retiring in 2010 as a Heat Treat Engineer.

Steven was a past member of the Ancient Free & Accepted Masons.

He enjoyed doing any and all kinds of puzzles, working with model trains and airplanes and had collected stamps and coins in the past.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Pastor Chuck Tate will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
