Gerald H. Harazmus

PEKIN ~ Gerald Henry Harazmus, 76, of Pekin, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, December 1, 2019 at OSF Saint Francis Medical in Peoria.

Born May 4, 1943 in Chicago, he married Joyce Nowicki in 1963 in Chicago and had three children together (Jerry, Jamie, and Jacqueline). Gerald and Joyce later divorced. He then married Barbara Garrett and later divorced. He married Linda Jo Webster on August 25, 1990 in Pekin. Linda died February 4, 2011 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are twin sons, Jerry Harazmus and Jamie (Doug) Harazmus, both of Tomah, Wisconsin; one daughter, Jacqueline (Mich) Brooks of Tomah, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Brandon, Devin, and Madison of Tomah, Wisconsin; one sister, Joanne Symoniak of Pekin; stepchildren Michael (Renee) Humphrey of Hopedale, Lori (Michael) Molitor of Bloomington, Debra (Mike) Abbott of Minier, and his long-time caregiver and loving companion Barbara Harazmus (granddaughter Bree).

He began his career as an electrical draftsman at Corn Products Corporation in Argo, Illinois and later worked at Komatsu in Peoria, from where he retired.

Gerald, an avid bowler, was active in several leagues throughout his life. He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was of the Catholic faith.

His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice.
