Robert Howl

PEORIA ~ Robert Michael “Bob” Howl, 58, of Peoria, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born February 12, 1961 in Chicago to Robert Oral and Elizabeth Catherine (Gaffney) Howl. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Surviving are his father and step-mother, Robert and Susie Howl of Port Washington, Wisconsin; six siblings, Maura Howl of Sarasota, Florida, Donna Courtney of California, Maryland, Catherine Howl of St. Louis, Missouri, Larry (Karen) Howl of Boulder, Colorado, Elizabeth (John) Madry of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Cynthia (Antonio Martinez) Howl of Alexandria, Virginia; two nieces, Lauren Howl and Allison (Duvin) Bentley and one step-brother, Rick Kuilema of Greenville, South Carolina.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He was a 1979 graduate of Olympia High School and attended Illinois Central College.

Bob enjoyed running, working out and taking walks while enjoying the outdoors. He also enjoyed detailing and working on cars and watching sports, especially the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

His private graveside service will be at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Bloomington. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
