Jerry Hash

PEORIA ~ Jerry Lee Hash, 75, of Peoria, passed away at 4:58 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at his home.

Born July 10, 1944 in Corbin, Kentucky to Joe and Blanche (Tuttle) Hash, he married Beverly Kay McCloud on January 16, 1965 in Glasford. 

Surviving is his wife of 55 years; three daughters, Sherrie (Kevin) Beckwith of San Angelo, Texas, Terrie (Bob) O’Malley of Mesa, Arizona and Jo’Ann (Tony) Pence of Bartonville; six grandchildren, Kasandra (Shaffer) Adkins, Brandon Pence, Brian Lee Shaffer, Megan (Pence) Foster, Robbie O’Malley, and Dillon Shaffer; five great-grandchildren and three siblings, Brenda (John) Battle of Florida, Steve (Ann) Hash of Bartonville and Ed (Peggy) Hash of Corbin, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother.

Jerry had worked as a crane operator for 30 years at Caterpillar, Inc. in Mapleton, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the UAW Local 974 in East Peoria. Jerry was also owner and operator of Red’s Used Cars and B & J Auto Sales, both in Peoria for 30 years.

An outdoorsman, Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and playing cards. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor David Wilder will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
