Jacob E. Weber, Jr.

PEORIA ~ Jacob Edward “Jake” Weber, Jr., 73, of Peoria, passed away at 6:14 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020 at UnityPoint Health –Methodist in Peoria.

Born January 1, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Jacob Edward, Sr. and Charlotte (Pethoud) Weber, he married Florence K. Munson on March 17, 1977 in Pekin.  She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Michael (Tara) Weber of Bryant; four daughters, Penny (Jeff) Hatcher of Aurora, Betty Ziegenbein, Linda Ziegenbein, and Charlotte Weber, all of Peoria; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Doyle Weber of St. Louis, Missouri and Jim “James” (Linda) Ray of Peoria and three sisters, Doris (Ray) Cloud of Peoria, Jacqueline “Jackie” Meyers of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and Sharon (Lee) Milks of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his mother; father and step-mother, Martha Weber; one brother, Terry Weber and three sisters, Mary Mason, Frances Ray and Linda Smith and one sister in infancy.

Jake had served in the United States Army with most of his service in Alaska.

He worked in construction most of his life out of the Laborers’ Local 165 in Peoria. He last worked as a security guard for Securitas.

He was a member and past-commander of the Paul Towne Memorial AMVETS Post 169 in North Pekin.

Jake was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed playing video games on the computer.

His visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Military rites will be accorded at 3 p.m. by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
