Bryan T. Elliott

PEKIN ~ Bryan Todd Elliott, 56, of Pekin, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2020 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria.

Born November 7, 1963 in Pekin to Arthur Raymond “Art” and Dorothy “Dot” (Camp) Elliott, he married Diana Lynn Maquet on April 17, 2013 in Pekin. 

Surviving are his wife, Diana Elliott; one son, Christopher “Critter” (Rosie Tonsor) Elliott of Pekin; three step-daughters, Teri (Mike) Behm and Erica (Devon) Brooks, both of Pekin, Michele (Jeremy) Hogue of Lyman, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bruce (Cathy) Elliott of Morton and Bradd (Gidget) Elliott of Marquette Heights; and one sister, Carla Worlow of Pekin.

His parents preceded him in death.

He was a 1982 graduate of Pekin Community High School.

Bryan was a police officer with the Pekin Police Department for 26 years, retiring in March of 2017.  He was a 3rd generation Pekin Police Officer with his Grandfather, Father and Brother also retiring before him. Their combined years of service totaled 102 years.  Previously, Bryan had worked as a dispatcher for the Tazewell/Pekin Consolidated Communications Center in Pekin, a police officer with the Marquette Heights Police Department, and later a police officer with the Delavan Police Department.

In his youth, Bryan was a member of the Pekin Police Department Explorer Post #400 and later served as an advisor to the post when he was a police officer.

Bryan was a Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed playing board and card games and fishing.  He will be remembered for his extreme love for his family, but you can’t overlook his orneriness, goofy side, and his witty sayings.

His visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  A funeral procession will follow the visitation to Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, where a committal service will be held.  Al Ables will officiate and Police honors will be accorded by the Pekin Police Department Honor Guard.  Cremation will be accorded following services.
