TOPEKA ~ Freddie J. “Fred” Mock, 64, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at his home.

He was born July 4, 1955 in Pekin to Franklin D. and Norma Jean (Merritt) Mock.

Fred is survived by three brothers, Frankie Ray Mock, Danny E. (Carla) Mock, Jason M. Mock; three sisters, Marsha Piro, Rita F. Mock, Brenda (Rich) Wheeler; and several nieces, nephew, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; and one sister, Rosie Mock.

Fred was a self-employed horse trainer and boarder.

He was a member of the American Kennel Club and loved animals. Among his favorites were ducks, chickens, doves, pigeons, cats, and potbelly pigs. Fred bred and raised dogs of several different breeds throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Fred on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Eagles Lodge in Pekin at 2:00 p.m. All friends are welcome to attend.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
