Nancy R. Rigdon

PEKIN ~ Nancy Rae Rigdon, 79, of Pekin, passed away at 11:27 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her home.

Born March 3, 1940 in Pinckneyville to Wilbur Allen and Halean (Hutchings) Logan, she married Eugene Robert Rigdon on February 16, 1957 in Pinckneyville.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Eugene; one daughter, Gina (Sam) Moses of Pekin; three sons, Mike (Kathy) Rigdon and Mark Rigdon, both of Pekin and Tod (Cathy) Rigdon of Spring Lake; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother and four sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Paul Rigdon on April 24,2010 and one brother.

A homemaker, Nancy had also worked outside the home at First Federal Savings & Loan in Pekin as a teller.

Nancy was an avid quilter, who made lap robes for local nursing homes. She was also a member of Quilts and More that made quilts for cancer patients and she also crocheted neck scarves for homeless shelters.

A loving and devoted, wife, mother and grandmother, Nancy loved to cook comfort food for her family and listen to gospel music.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor David Auxier will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Liberty Baptist Church, 2105 Sheridan Road, Pekin, Illinois 61554.
