EAST PEORIA ~ Joe Wilson Denney, 83, of East Peoria passed away on February 27, 2020 at 3:12 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

Born April 7, 1936 in East Peoria to Fred and Bessie (Hammond) Denney. He first married Grace Debolt, then went on to marry Marilyn Sprout, and then went on to marry Carol Edmiston.

Surviving are four daughters, Randi Jo (Jake Florey) Denney of East Peoria, Lisa Jo (Steve) Wagstaff of East Peoria, Frannie Jo Lane of Pekin, Gala Hardin of Peoria; nine grandchildren, Charles, Kalyn, Chris, Josh, Phillip, Megan, Andrew, Danielle, Christian; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Bess Vendouris of California, one brother Robert Denney of Ohio; eight in-laws, Larry (Pat) Edmiston, Beverly Biggerstaff, Mary Edmiston, Peggy (Tim) Foster, Donna Arbogast, Pam(Steve) Davis, Chuck Edmiston, Joyce (Rick) Deemie, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol Denney, four brothers, Fred Denney, Richard Denney, Trennace Denney, Glen Denney, one sister, Betty Denney, and brother-in-law, Bill Edmiston.

He worked at TP & W Railway for many years as a mechanic and also at Peoria Country Club as a bartender.

Joe enjoyed riding and working on his motorcycle, he was also part of Trojans Motorcycle Club. In his later years he enjoyed Jeopardy, Free Cell and NASCAR.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
