PEKIN ~ Lorie L. Weishaar, 47, of O'Fallon, Missouri, passed away at 8:53 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. She was formerly of Pekin.
Born December 15, 1972 in Pekin to Gary and A. Kristene (Sowers) Calvin, she married Frank Weishaar on October 13, 2001 in Pekin. He survives, along with their daughter, Lyndsey Weishaar of O’Fallon .
Also surviving are her father and step-mother, Gary and Wilma Calvin of Pekin; one brother, David (Rebecca) Calvin of Simi Valley, California and one foster brother, Chris (Rhonda) Lemay of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her mother, A. Kristene Calvin.
Lorie received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western Illinois University and her Masters in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis. She worked as a scientist for 21 years, last working for Bayer in Chesterfield, Missouri. Lorie will be remembered as a passionate and highly motivated scientist. Her energy was contagious and her enthusiasm in the workplace will be missed.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, Lorie enjoyed fishing, playing board and card games, and visiting amusement and theme parks. She was a kid at heart and made those around her feel as if the they were as well.
Lorie was an accomplished violinist from her youth. She had played in several different orchestra’s, lastly playing with the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2020 at Rock Church in East Peoria. Pastor Chuck Tate will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Browning Cemetery in Browning.
