George H. Adcock

PEKIN ~ George H. Adcock, 87, of Pekin, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at UnityPoint Health – Pekin Hospital.

Born November 15, 1932 in Pekin to Irvin, Sr. and Annetta (Bruder) Adcock, he married Janet Mary Pielock.  She died September 29, 1995.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffrey Adcock; three sisters, Wilma Ehrett, Jeanine Smith, and Elizabeth Yerly; and four brothers, Byron Adcock, Irvin Adcock, Jr., Robert Adcock, and Lyle Adcock.

Surviving are one son, Christopher Adcock of Beloit, Wisconsin; one grandson; one brother, Jerry Adcock of California; six sisters, Jacquelin Wright of California, Jan (Jerry) Grimm of Edmonds, Washington, Louise (Don) Thomas of Manito, and Joyce (John) Ziegenbein, Linda Smith, and Diana (Walt) Emmons, all of Pekin; and many nieces and nephews.

George was a veteran of the United States Navy.

George worked for the Beloit Iron Works as a draftsman, retiring with over 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A gathering celebrating George’s life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the William Schaefer American Legion Post #44, 718 Court Street in Pekin.  Inurnment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Don Bohlander Parkinson’s FundRACERS, 2213 September Lane, Pekin, IL  61554.
