Obituaries are so much more than a public notice that a friend or loved one has passed away.

Jeffrey Stout

8/17/1947 - 5/8/2020

PEKIN - Jeffrey Lynn Stout, 72, of Pekin, passed away at 6:21 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 17, 1947 in Peoria to William and Jean “Millie” (Nitros) Stout, he married Carol Cusson, love of his life and best friend, on April 18, 1970. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother; two daughters: Renee (Ron) Rumple and Niccol Stout; three grandchildren: Caleb, Bri, and Emmerson; one great-granddaughter, Brecklin; three brothers: Mike Randle, Bill Stout, and Eric Stout and his beloved rescue cat, Lacey and adopted shelter dog, Summer.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Cheryl Nitros.

He was a Pekin High School graduate. His working career spanned nearly 40 years at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. as an Electrician and Brick Mason.

He enjoyed the epic yearly birthday bashes around the pool and holiday family gatherings, reading Jean Auel novels, and watching everything on the History Channel. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Jeffrey will be remembered for his kind heart and selflessness by his loved ones. Through the years, he loved watching his daughters and grandkids participate in all kinds of activities. Being a “Papa,” laughing at the comical antics of his granddaughters, and bonding with his grandson over a shared interest in history were the things that he cherished most in his later years.

Cremation will be accorded. A Celebration of Life for Jeffrey will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
