Rex A. Crook

PEORIA ~ Rex Alan Crook, 71, of East Peoria, formerly of Colorado, passed away at 10:58 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born February 27, 1949 in Sutherland, Nebraska, to Ronald Dean and Virginia “Coleman” Crook. His mother survives. His father and nephew, Jordan Collins, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his two daughters, Katie Crook of Colorado, Cassandra (Arron Elmore) Crook of East Peoria; one sister, Cathryn (Dennis) Collins of Colorado; one brother Mark (Becky) Crook of Oregon; three nieces, Ashley Collins of Colorado, Stephanie (Tony) of Oregon, Jessica (John) of Tennessee; one nephew, Joshua (Jen) Collins of Colorado; and the mother of Rex’s children, Laurie Crook.
He was the principal architect and owner of T-Rex Architex for over 30 years. Rex’s company, and the people he worked with, was one of his greatest joys in life. He loved creating interesting and beautiful spaces, as well as design solutions for his clients.
Rex was a member of the American Institute of Architects, Red Rocks Community Church, Restoration Fellowship, and the Denver Botanic Gardens. He was previously a member of a Denver Rotary Club. He was an avid reader, artist, and lover of music. He was a devout Christian, attending church multiple times a week. He also hosted Bible studies at his home, and attended a men’s’ Bible study weekly. He loved to sing in several church choirs and in the car during road trips. Rex was a Star Trek fan, and loved watching episodes with his daughters. In his free time, he enjoyed watching football with family and friends, cheering on the Nebraska Huskers and the Denver Broncos. He loved to take ‘car rides’ and travel with his family around the world. Some of his favorite trips with his daughters and parents were to Yellowstone National Park, Redwood National Park, and Australia.
